The Supervisor, Spiritual Health Services is responsible for leading and supporting a broad range of professional spiritual care services to serve the spiritual, religious, and emotional needs of care recipients and caregivers in inpatient, outpatient and community settings. The Supervisor assures that Spiritual Health and the services of the professional chaplain caregivers are an integral part of the overall ministry [organization]. The Supervisor is responsible for the recruitment, selection, assignments, scheduling, development, counseling and retention or termination of the chaplain caregivers, as well as any caregivers and volunteers that may be associated with Spiritual Health Services. As a leader of the healthcare team, is directly responsible for department support of the mission and values, and for leading implementation of policies and procedures of the Department of Spiritual Health Services and of the facility and in the ministries in which they serve.

Required Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Theology, Divinity, Spirituality, Pastoral Ministry, or the equivalent applicable education from an accredited institution
Coursework/Training - 4 units—Accredited or approved by the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE), by programs that were accredited by the former United States Conference of Catholic Bishops Commission on Certification and Accreditation (USCCB/CCA), or the Canadian Association for Spiritual Care (CASC/ACSS)
Within 3 years of hire National Chaplain Certification
Upon hire: Maintains board certification by professional chaplain organizations that follow the Common Competencies for Professional Chaplains, including the following: Association of Professional Chaplains (APC); National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC); Neshama Association of Jewish Chaplains (NAJC); Association of Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE) or the Canadian Association for Pastoral Practice and Education/Association canadienne de soins spirituels (CASC)
Upon hire: Board certification documentation must be submitted to the appropriate HR systems within three years of hire date
3 years experience in Professional Chaplaincy in a healthcare setting, including geriatric and palliative care experience
2 years Progressive responsibility for leadership functions
Preferred Qualifications:
1 year experience in a medical setting
